When Russia collapsed about 30 years ago they released their stockpile of strategic minerals including top quality optical quartz. I was lucky enough to be there at the right time and bought a ton of it. This piece was carved at that time.

Quan Yin is known as the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy and Compassion.
